Network & IT Configuration

This section provides documentation for IT administrators deploying FastRTK base stations in enterprise environments.

Overview

FastRTK base stations require network connectivity to:

  • Stream NTRIP corrections to rovers
  • Provide web-based administration
  • Enable remote monitoring and management
  • Relay corrections from external CORS networks

Deployment Recommendations

Place the base station on an isolated VLAN:

  • Maximum network isolation
  • Granular firewall control
  • Easy to audit and monitor

Small Office / Home

Use NAT port forwarding:

  • Works with existing routers
  • Simple to configure
  • No additional hardware needed

Remote / Field Sites

Use cellular modem:

  • No site infrastructure needed
  • Works in remote locations
  • Carrier provides firewall
